The Place:
Louis
The Scene:
In case you didn't know it, Gansevoort South has quickly become Miami's new it-spot whether you're a SoBe local frequenting David Barton Gym or Wilhelmina model making your daily appearance at the rooftop Pluge pool lounge. Now comes the reign of Louis. Backed by owners of Opium Group, the club is located through what appears to be the main entrance of the hotel but is actually behind escalator that leads to David Barton Gym. Located in an offbeat corner of the hotel's massive first floor retail space, the club stretches along the backside of the lobby's gigantic shark tank. Although it's yet to be seen how the fish handle the nightly bass of hip-hop beats.
A lengthy velvet rope that dwarfs that of nearby Plunge, located on the other side of the lobby entrance, leads to a lackluster convention-center style atrium and the double doors that lead to Louis. A curved red velvet wall is tufted with chrome skulls at the entrance of the club, leading to a main room lounge area of banquette seating opposite a long white bar with eclectic Louis XIV scroll details. Contrasted with the occasion bold florescent color fabrics and lazy service that comes with a hot body and pretty face, Louis brings VIP culture to North South Beach and the lobby of Gansevoort South.
JetSet Tips:
Buy a room bypass the line. Hotel guests are given immediate entrance to the nightclub through a private doorway located past the main reception.
Last Word:
Upscale VIP lounge is currently the hottest new nightclub to premiere in Miami since SET from he owners of Opium Garden and Prive located in the Gansevoort South.
