The hottest hotel openings of Fall 2014

The arrival of fall brings the anticipation of several hotel openings that look to reshape the travel plans of luxury and business travelers in London, Paris, New York and Las Vegas. In the US, New York leads the pack with three boutique and luxury offerings that include the posh new Park Hyatt New York across from Carnegie Hall within a landmark new building by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Christian de Portzamparc and interiors by Yabu Pushelberg. Near Madison Square Park, Martha Washington Hotel recreates a 1900s women’s club with new Danny Meyer Restaurant in a neighborhood dotted by the Ace and Nomad Hotel. Baccarat is still slated to unveil it crystal-studded hotel palace with interiors by Gilles and Boissier along 53rd Street opposite the Museum of Modern Art. In Las Vegas, the Delano attempts to bring lux-boutique cache back to the Mandalay Bay’s former TheHOTEL as SLS Hotel brings a moneyed party scene to the north strip.

Morgans Hotel Group debuts its Mondrian London that joins sister properties like the Sanderson and St. Martin’s Lane. Opening September 30th, the Southbank property brings a certified dose of cool to the Thames-facing property with interiors by designer Tom Dixon and restaurant by Seamus Mullen. The Peninsula Paris proves the hottest reservation for end-of-September Fashion Week while Le Cinq Codet recreates a 1920s artist studio in the 7th with interiors by interiors by Jean-Hilippe Nuel. Domaine de Manville opens as one of the most luxurious getaways in Provence on a designer farmstead with 30-room property and 18-hole gold course. Porto Montenegro finally gets its crowning hotel with Regent Porto Montenegro designed by Tino Zervudachi that offers summer high season through October. In Turkey, a bevy of new properties are all outshined by new Raffles Istanbul along the European side of the Bosphorus with galley art collection, two swimming pools and night lounge.

Further afield, Rosewood Beijing brings a high luxury aesthetic to a city with no shortage of 5-star names but with added the cache of a Six Senses Spa and residential-style rooms in the city’s Chaoyang District.
