Hotel Type

Luxury Retreat

An exquisite 19th Century villa located just outside of Florence near Giardino Boboli, Grand Villa Cora was originally the private residence of the great Baron Oppenheim. Perhaps one of Europe's most opulent hotel palaces to open in the recent decade, a meticulous renovation includes the baron's famous public rooms that were inspired by his love of the Arab world and neoclassical design. The result is a design triumph in a gently removed location offering an elaborate property of formal gardens, parklands and grand swimming pool that was once the only heated option in Florence. New to the property is also a state-of-the-art spa area located in the basement of the building with a Roman tepidarium, Turkish bath, sauna and fully-equipped gym that are a continuum of the hotel's ornate style. As for dining in this somewhat removed location, in-house Pasha offers seasonal ala carte or tasting menu with a Middle Eastern flair.
