City Hotel
From afar it's no longer chic, but inside it's a world of celebrity voyeurism and luxury accommodations that remains steadfast with the times. In a city of minimalist love and deco history, The Four Seasons Hotel is a Spanish style '80s high-rise of pastel colors and terra-cotta balcony railing. A cobblestone valet entrance offers limousine glimpses of residing celebrities and stars on their way to junkets. White glove service greats cares as a collection of figurative statues stride benches lining the main hotel entrance. A center console provides one of the most magnificent floral arrangements in the city, arranged by the in-house florist located in the basement.
The lobby lounge at Four Seasons is one of the hottest middle-age social scenes in Los Angeles, called Windows, a common stomping ground for stars, notoriety and infamous creatures of society. Drinks run around $10 and up and the staff frowns on those who cradle a $5 tea for too long. The Restaurant is an orgy of power lunches and business meetings dining on healthy California cuisine, except for the Sunday Brunch that is a carb-heavy masterpiece buffet for true food lovers.
The Room
Those booking into the Four Season’s are presented with a wide selection of room accommodations. Standard rooms offer East and West facing views of the downtown or Century City Skyline, although west-facing rooms have slightly more noise from street traffic. The Four Season’s bed is a specialized feather-top mattress that provides one of the best nights of sleep, outfitted with high-thread count Frette linens. Rooms feature fluffy ropes and towels, fine L’Occitane bath products and an gourmet mini-bar. Deluxe Rooms and suites feature larger living areas and bathrooms as well as better views with prime corner locations. The hotel features a world-class spa facility for massage, skin therapy and facials complete with the fitness facility added in 2000. A rooftop 5th-floor pool area features a dignified setting for sunbathing, swimming laps, or enjoying a spa lunch outdoors.
