Design Hotel
A symbol of familial wealth in inner Palma, Sant Francesc Hotel was once the 19th Century home of one of Mallorca's wealthiest families. Today, a luxury design hotel occupies the neoclassical mansion offering a glamorous and convenient urban option for long summer stays on Mallorca. Along a tree-lined plaza, a lobby lined in black iron windows and checkerboard marble floors mixes elements of history like concrete columns and original wood paneling with more modern design notes like industrial lighting and minimalist décor. An inner courtyard leads to the hotel's impressive lobby lounge and Quadrat Restaurant while an oversize staircase connects to upper level rooms, and a rooftop pool bar with panoramic views of Palma's historical sites - and not too shabby poolside tanning scene.
The Room
This urban design hotel offers 42 rooms and suites, many with wood-beamed ceilings and covered verandas - many with original frescos and moldings. Entry-level Superior rooms feature integrated bedroom and bathrooms with spaces a bit smaller than average for Mallorca, but with design details that make up for any shortcomings. If given the option opt for larger Junior Suites with lofty layout, rafter ceiling and canopy beds.
