Hotel Type
Hotel
At the corner of London's West End and Covent Garden, the hotel blends '20s Bank architecture with modern interior design to create one of London's more innovative and refreshing luxury hotels. Its conservative facade lures to a distinguished lobby detailed with inspired art collection and three full-service restaurants. Small seating amongst abstract art host conversational circles of local artists, actors and even a few celebrity guests. Not to be confused with a design hotel, One Aldwych is a luxury hotel that maximizes first class service with all the details of its big-name competitors. Its basement fitness center and lap pool are two of the best in all of England, even if under-utilized by guests.
The Room
Because many people opt for the elevator, most miss the ornate chrome staircase that traces the spine of the hotel. Each floor offers a central hallway with guest rooms looking in western and eastern directions. Rooms are meticulously attended with fresh flowers, original art works, and sumptuous Frette linens. Accommodations vary in size with standard accommodations hovering on the small side. Bathrooms are well accessorized with signature bath products and dual Starck-inspired vanities separated by mini-TV sets that become a bathroom necessity by the end of each stay. For guests who can appreciate modest extravagance and classic English service, the hotel aptly meets the demands of business and leisure travelers.
