Design Hotel
From the owners of Corsica's Casadelmar with its world-famous pool and Michelin star gourmand comes a new beach hotel and club. The evolution of the jetset in Porto-Vecchio gets a hefty upgrade with this contemporary design project by Jean-François Bodin. The 15-room property mixes post-and-beam architecture with pristine white silhouettes accented in volcanic rock, cement, resin and glass. Overlooking a white sand beach along Porto-Vecchio Bay, La Plage features a modest lobby with counter-style check-in and small seating area adorned in mid-century design elements. A one-room lounge connects to the main eatery with its elongated terrace and unfussy cuisine. Outside, a truly exquisite pool deck features exaggerated infinity edge with stack-stone cabana area and oversize white sunbeds that are the most coveted of any in Porto-Vecchio.
The Room
A mere 15-room means a tough reservation come July and August when minimum night stays are enforced. For those lucky enough, tranquil and stylish design spaces await with natural stone floors and creamy color palette that continues the design narrative originated at Casadelmar. Crisp white club chairs with a nod to Roche Bobois are mixed with integrated desks and wall units adorned with metal chrome chairs and minimalist LCD TVS. Open-flow bathrooms wrapped in wood paneling offer spa-style amenities from rain showers to premium organic bath products.
