Luxury Hotel
We've long kept La Bastide a secret for just our friends, this glamorously posh Tropezienne playground of blush-colored terracotta buildings in a sea of manicured gardens with one of the prettiest pools in St. Tropez. Visitors arrive down a long driveway and to a grand structure with cobblestone pathway and lobby of muted pastel colors accented in leather-clad furnishings juxtaposed to distressed wood details on tables and main check-in counter. A series of hallways connect to the atrium dining room with summertime terrace offering L'Olivier restaurant that's one of the area's better hotel gourmands in addition to a more casual bistro and bar. With no proper spa but massages arranged on demand, a small workout room is open 24-hours a day with services like beach reservations and yacht bookings well organized through concierge staff.
The Room
A series of 26-room are located within the main structure and fingerling of exterior structures that surround the main resort and pool area captured under a canopy of coastal pine and palm trees. Pink and ochre colors continue into entry-level rooms with their simple Queen-bed layout with wood windows and occasional balcony accessed through double French doors. Junior suites feature exposed beam ceiling with more muted color palette and use of antiquities and terraces wth private Jacuzzi. A series of two-room apartments are some of our favorite rooms in St. tropez with private gardens and paths leading to the main hotel areas.
