Design Hotel
Carved inside the hills of Santorini’s Imerovigli, Iconic is a boutique design hotel stacked along five levels of pristine white-stucco facing the caldera. Along a narrow roadway between the towns of Oia and Thira, a series of whitewashed buildings define a rambling, designer compound with jutting terraces, infinity pool and small farm-to-table eatery for all-day dining. A bohemian design of rustic woods, concrete floors and mostly-white décor envelops indoor spaces well preserved in native architectural elements like wooden windows and barrel ceilings. Outside, a more modern aesthetic prevails with sweeping terraces washed in muted colors and ignited by cobalt blue loungers, built-in sofas and dining arrangements connected by small staircases linking each level. In-house Pergola restaurant is defined by open kitchen that yields a modern spin on Greek cuisine inside a charming interior dining room with larger terrace. A boutique spa with small gym and indoor plunge pool compliments the larger infinity version on the resort deck.
The Room
Created from a series of caves carved from this oceanfront bluff facing the caldera, the rooms and residences of Iconic feature a cozy architecture of rounded stucco ceilings and long chambers of filtered light. Concrete floors are sparingly arranged in rustic wooden décor with white slipcovered furnished and minimal wall art. In-room bars are stocked with complimentary beverages restocked daily. Each room features an outdoor lounge space, albeit in various sizing and degree of privacy. Small bathrooms with tub or shower-combo are a mix of tile and marble with stylish collection of Aseop toiletries for guest enjoyment.
