Boutique Hotel
From the owners of NY's Bowery Hotel comes the Montauk motel haven of hotelier Sean MacPherson located in the familiar Crow's Nest Inn on Montauk Bay. A massive remodel job that wasn't exactly quick to finish, the space feels like a quintessential New England inn with a charming mix of seaside architecture and MacPherson's signature brand of eclectic styling. The crowd is perhaps the thing we loved most of the hotel, like a living splice of those moody Ralph Lauren ads of country club meets collegiate sex appeal of bright blue chinos, seersucker jackets and short-short mini-dresses. Contained within a main lodge with fingerling of surrounding building, the hotel is home to a series of private events, lawn parties and one of the better hotel dining rooms in the area already populated with hipster weekend lodges.
The Room
Rooms at the Crow’s Nest are what you’ve come to expect of Montauk hospitality, namely spare spaces that mix minimal architecture with utilitarian design and scattering of camp and beach-theme pieces to remind inhabitants of why they came in the first place. Better rooms are on upper levels with end units offering the best views and most peaceful night sleep. Upgraded room offer addition day beds in the living area as well as a 2-bedroom cottage that’s our favorite accommodation on the property. Guests are privy to entrée to private summer events at the hotel including soirees for corporate sponsors like Chanel and local magazine parties.
