Its location has never needed upgrading; Ararat Park Hyatt sits in a highly walkable location near the Bolshoi Theatre and few blocks from Red Square and Saint Basil's Cathedral. On first sight of the atrium lobby with towering glass and steel elevator juxtaposed, a sedately modern lobby lounge impressed albeit with too-shiny marble floors and sexy collection of leggy Russian locals that aren't shy about chatting-up visitors. Service is impeccable from the chauffeur service that picks guests up in the polished Mercedes house car to the reservation clerk who even inquires of concierge needs on check-in.
The hotel is home to three different restaurant offerings including Café Ararat with its regional Armenian specialties, more-formal Park Restaurant and trendier Enoki sushi eatery. Late nights offer no shortage of bar action within the lobby offering a more refined scene of cocktails and cordials in the Neglinka lobby lounge while rooftop Conservatory offers a rooftop atrium on the 10th floor with views of Red Square and the Bolshoi Theatre that's open till 2am nightly. Spa-revelers find Quantum Spa & Health Club, a well-equipped hotel gym with indoor pool and boutique spa facilities.
The Room
On par with the level of top-luxury Park Hyatt locations found across Europe and Asia, the hotel complete a complete refurbishment in late-2011 that included all 211 rooms that now evoke a more modern, sophisticated styling. A spare Italianate design of minimalist décor is echoed through guest room lined in chocolate hardwood flooring, subtle printed curtained framing floor-to-ceiling windows and geometric throw rugs of a refined taste " especially for a large international luxury chain. Beds are framed with simple caramel-color headboard with chunky side tables and signature leather armchair. Attractive wooden desk chairs with an architectural flair flank seated writing desks. Bathrooms impress even in the smaller of rooms with intricate mirrored vanities with wood inlay and soaking tubs surrounded in honey-wood paneling with terrycloth ottoman placed elegantly at its side.
