Its street façade is a grandiose as any in this Palermo Chico neighborhood, and perhaps all of Buenos Aries. An ornate beaux-arts mansion with exquisite masonry detailing and forged iron signage is graced by double walnut doors that elude to the building’s 1927 creation. Inside, a spiral staircase winds-up the architectural spine of the structure that houses a boutique publisher with bookstore, fragrance apothecary, florist, patisserie and restaurant. A sophisticated décor mixes blanched oak floors with minimalist furnishings and a gentile polish of period antiquities.

An all-day menu of teahouse specialties is mixed with a café menu of slow-baked salmon, sautéed spinach with soft-boiled egg and grilled beet salad. Heartier dishes include 10-ounce rib eye, breaded beef tenderloin and spinach raviolis. Dessert should not be missed, even if that means a smaller lunch, offering fanciful cakes and tortes as well as almond soufflé and array of tartlets made in-house.
